Description
Preserve a lovely piece of history with this charming antique brooch! Created in 18k yellow gold and sterling silver, this piece dates from the Georgian Period, circa 1840s -1850s. The front of the brooch showcases a quartz and glass doublet in an ornate frame adorned with natural diamonds. A rope of beaded sterling silver surrounds the doublet, which is ported from the underside to accentuate its Devon cream-hued translucence. Adding sparkle to the glow of the doublet, circlets of rose-cut diamonds glisten on the ends of flourishes of beaded sterling silver. The brooch closes from the back with a bar and fish hook-style clasp of yellow gold. A hinged safety latch encloses the fish hook for extra security. In excellent condition, this antique brooch would make a wonderful addition to a collection of jewelry from yesteryear. The brooch's 18k gold and sterling silver composition has been professionally tested and verified.
This brooch weighs 8.2 grams. The piece measures 1 3/4" (44.5mm) long and 29/32" (22.8mm) wide.
This piece has not been professionally cleaned in order to maintain its original vintage integrity.
We guarantee this piece to be sterling silver and 18k gold as tested. Please check out the enlarged pictures.
