Create your own legend with this magnificent vintage brooch! Crafted in Norway, this piece is fashioned in 830S grade silver and measures a generous 2 ½ inches in diameter. The image showcased on the face of the brooch is an Alpine cross-country skier. A traditional hat protects his head, while a sturdy jacket and knee-high ski boots provide warmth. Portrayed in full-stride on a mound of snow, the skier is smoking a meerschaum pipe, clutching a ski pole, and carrying a full backpack. The open cut background is beautifully detailed, with bare tree branches reaching to the sky or drooping under the weight of a recent snowfall. An ornate frame formed from swirls and flourishes of sterling silver encircles the brooch. The brooch fastens from the back with a long bar and hook clasp. The back of the brooch contains a maker's mark and a 830 S stamp that verifies the silver composition. The back is also marked with a NM stamp which stands for Norsk Monster.
